Baptism

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire" Matthew 3:11

Hey, it's Josh and I'm going to speak about baptism today.  There are two types of baptism:  with water and with the Holy Ghost.  Both types are very important for a Christian.  Baptism of the Holy Spirit is what happens when you are truly saved.  Baptism of water is probably what you think about when you hear "baptism."  It's when a pastor/baptist dunks you underwater and says, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost."  This baptism is like an outward expression of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but even though it's a special milestone in a person's life, you don't have to have it.  Think about the thief on the cross next to Jesus:

"And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."  Luke 23:39-43

He was saved without being baptized in water.

Bonds

Hey, it's Josh and over the past few days I've had an idea. I want to write down my thoughts on how humans bond with others and have them published. I have some really interesting ideas concerning how and why we bond with certain people, pets, etc. I was wondering what you think of my idea, so tell me what you think, offer some of your ideas, or share some biblical passages that you think would help. I have not began my research yet, so I am open for ideas at the moment. Any help you can offer is appreciated. Please comment.

God bless you,

The First Resurrection

Hey, it's Josh and to start off this post, I'm going to tell ya'll something about me that I haven't told ya'll. I used to be a huge fan of the Left Behind series, until I realized how much the authors had wrong. The main thing is that they messed up when the rapture will happen. They said the rapture takes place right before the Tribulation when, in fact, it takes place closer to the middle of the Tribulation. Revelation 20:5-4 says:

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."

Notice it says, "This is the first resurrection." That means that there were none before it. And all of this takes place in the 20th chapter of Revelation, after the 7 seal judgments, the trumpets, and the vials. And this means that we all will have to choose between God and the mark of the beast. You won't be able to count on the rapture to keep you from what I wrote about in my previous post.

God bless ya'll,

Josh

God's Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.
Hey this is David and I'd like to start off with this first verse to John Newtons song Amazing grace. You know in the begging when he just written this song people didn't like it.Mainly because off the second line,"That saved a wretch like me."Can you believe that just because he called us wretches. As Christians we know we are wretches we and we need a savior. We need someone who we could go to and know he'd forgive us and love us.There is no one on this earth in the flesh that could do this cause no one is perfect especially not me.Yet God still sent his ONLY son Jesus Christ to us and he died for us.Isn't grace so amazing.Grace means getting something we don't deserve and that's what we have and what we can get.
Some people ask me,"Why are you a christian?'' and i would answer because i felt there was something missing. All this worldly things don't last. Were all rotten sinners but by God's Grace and only God's grace will you empty cup be filled. So basically i just want to say we all need God's grace but do you want it?

The Mark of the Beast

The time has come. It's the day of the big test that decides if you move on to the next grade or not. You studied all week, you got up early and ate a good breakfast, and you might have even studied with your friends right before you take the test. It comes time to finally take the test and you know for a fact you nailed it. You knew the answer to every question on there. But you get the results and you got every question wrong! It turns out that you marked the answer for question #1 in the #2 blank on the answer sheet and every answer after that was wrong. All your hard work was for nothing. And all because of one little mistake.

Hey, it's Josh and it seems that school is on everyone's minds lately, sothis seemed like the perfect example for what I need to say. Well let's change a few details of that story so I more clearly get to my point.

You were born and raised a Christian. You've been saved through Jesus. You go to church every Wednesday and Sunday, and you bring someone with you every week. You read the Bible everyday. You don't listen to Slipknot, Eminem, or Hollywood Undead. You listen to Chris Tomlin, Josh Wilson, and David Crowder Band. You don't watch Freddy vs. Jason, you watch The Passion of the Christ. You are the perfect example of a Christian. But one day you're watching the news and you hear that soon everyone will need a chip implanted in them to be able to buy stuff, so you decide to go out and get one of those chips. You find out later, in the Tribulation, that what you got was the infamous mark of the beast. So now you've slipped and all you've done up till now was wasted.

See, as Christians, it is important for us to be able to recognize the mark of the beast when it's released because once you get it, you can't turn back. Even if you are a Christian. YOU CAN'T GET IT NO MATTER WHAT!!!

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." Revelation 14:9-11

Ok, so we know that we need to avoid getting the mark, but how do we know what it is? Well we don't, but God wouldn't tell us not to get the mark without at least giving us some hints about what it is.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.(666)" Revelation 13:16-18

So we know that the mark of the beast:
1. Is on the right hand or forehead.
2. Is what will allow people to buy and sell.

Be very careful brothers and sisters, because we live in dangerous times and I pray that when the time comes we will all recognize the mark and avoid it.

God bless you,

Josh

Caught

There was this story i  heard and it's about two dating teenagers who one day went up to the youth pastor. They confused to having sex in there car in the park. Then out of nowhere the youth pastor said yeah someone saw you.Well these two started freaking out saying,"What someone saw us!Who?!"  Then the pastor said,"Oh well it was God who saw you,"they then where like,"Oh yeah God saw us is that it?"

So lets recap when the youth pastor told them someone saw them they freaked out but when he said it was God they where like,"Oh yeah God," almost like it was okay that it was God.Don't we do that sometimes acting like God is a character in this fairy tail we say we believe in.I know i use to be like okay good its just God no one else, almost like God isn't as important as sinning humans.

God sees everything we do and yet we act like it nothing but if some else sees you well that's a whole different story right? We try to make ourselves out to be great in our worlds eyes but first we must ALL become right in Gods eyes.Which could never happen because I know i can not ever come close to being like my Jesus. But thanks to that day when he was hung on the cross for me,for Josh, for all of America, and for all the world.

What I'm getting to is this:all of us need to be aware that Gods there with us and the only way for that to be on your mind is to accept our Jesus as our lord and Savior. So may you know that you can run and hide but you will always be caught by God.

Seven

Hey, it's Josh. Sorry I haven't been posting quite as much as I've wanted to lately, but I've been busy. Anyway, have any of you guys wondered what makes the number "7" so special? I mean, it's considered a lucky number, if you get three of them on a slot machine, you get the jackpot, and you always hear it in the Bible. So what makes seven so special? Well, while I was trying to answer this question, I stumbled upon what I thought was a great idea for a blog post. So to intrigue you (and lack of a better idea for a post) here are some facts, from the Bible, about 7.

1. There are 562 Bible verses containing the word "seven" or it's variations (seven, seventy, seven thousand, etc.)

2. When God made the Earth, He rested on the seventh day.*

3. In the book of Revelation, John wrote to seven churches in Asia.**

4. There are seven seal judgements.***

5. There are seven angels in the Tribulation with seven trumpets.****

6. Seven more angels receive seven vials containing plagues.*****

Anyway, those are just a few, but with 562 verses, I had to limit what I put.

God bless you,

Josh
